Mr Kebba Sunjatta Marenah MBBS/BSc(Hons) MRCS(Eng) FRCS(Tr+Orth) PGDip MSK Sci

Dr Kebba S. Marenah is Gambia’s first Orthopaedic surgeon. He studied Medicine at Imperial College London, qualifying in 2006 and proceeded to complete his core surgical training in the East of England deanery. As a Registrar, he specialised in orthopaedics for over 3 years at Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and 4 years at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, teaching hospitals and Level 1 Major trauma centres. He was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England [FRCS (Tr+Orth)] in 2017.

He has a wide range of experience in Orthopaedics especially trauma, but also covers all major sub-specialities including Paediatric orthopaedics, Joint replacement surgery; Hand Surgery and Spinal surgery. After achieving his FRCS (Tr+Orth) he spent a further speciality year training in pelvic and acetabular trauma surgery combined with complex & revision arthroplasty (hip and knee replacement surgery). He is also a holder of a Post-graduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal science. In April 2022 he graduated from a Havard Surgical Leadership program

Dr Marenah was appointed as a consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedics at the Edward Francis-Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH) in The Gambia in August 2018. He became the head of department in August 2019 to August 2021 and was a member of the hospital management board during that same period.  In may 2022 he was appointed a senior consultant and also became the Vice president of the Medical & Dental Association of the Gambia

Dr Marenah is involved in teaching at the undergraduate level as a Senior lecturer at the School of Medicine and allied health sciences, University of the Gambia (UTG) and also American International University West Africa (AIUWA). He is also involved in the Acreditation, Membership & Fellowship for orthopedics at Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital under West Africa College of Surgeon.

In May 2021 he was appointed the Medical Director of Westfield Clinic the Gambia. A foremost Charitable health facility In the Gambia.
